<p>Again, I&#8217;m not here to bash lead providers. If you buy leads and make money, great! If you&#8217;re looking for ways to generate your own exclusive leads and loyal customers for a fraction of the price then that&#8217;s the Lead Traffic Matrix.</p>

<p>Here are some insider secrets about the internet lead business.</p>
<p>We covered in the webinar some of the most common bad leads such as&#8230;</p>
<p>* Incorrect contact info<br />
* Shared 25 times<br />
* Uninsurables</p>
<p>Even when you close a lead they tend to renew and refer you additional business at very low rates.</p>
<p>Now you can&#8217;t get a lead credit from your lead provider because they not &#8220;bad&#8221; but they still are not very good.</p>
<p>Lead providers will also sell leads to other lead providers. If they can only share that lead 3 or 4 times they&#8217;ll just<br />
sell it to another lead provider who sells it who knows how many more times.</p>
<p>There is also incentivized leads.  These must be the worst possible leads out there.</p>
<p>What are incentivized leads?</p>
<p>They are leads that are generated by making people select &#8220;sponsors&#8221; offers in order to get their free screen saver, dinner for two, a possible trip to Disney Land, or whatever.</p>
<p>It becomes difficult to know what leads you&#8217;re actually getting from lead providers because lead providers will<br />
actually mix these bad leads in with their good leads.</p>
<p>They attempt to strike a balance so that the leads are cheap for them and just good enough that you don&#8217;t drop them.</p>
<p>Now you know some things that you may have not known before.</p>
<p>When you start getting shady leads you can do a few things to improve them.</p>
<ul>
<li>Ask the lead why they left their info.  You&#8217;ll learn  a lot from the lead themselves as to what&#8217;s up.</li>
<li>Confront the lead provider. Sometimes they just don&#8217;t know what&#8217;s wrong.</li>
<li>Try a different advertising source. Don&#8217;t get beat up on leads&#8230;if it ain&#8217;t working, it ain&#8217;t working.</li>
</ul>

If this is you make sure you&#8217;re following these 3 simple techniques to make <em>friends </em>and not <em>foes.</em></p>
<h2>1) Let people know who <em>you</em> are.</h2>
<p>Who are you? Not what company you work for or what carriers you sell. People buy from real people. The more you hide behind a company name or the products you carry the worse you will do at building relationships, earning trust and creating loyal customers.</p>
<p>There are a few ways you can let someone know who you are&#8230;</p>
<p><span id="more-231"></span></p>
<ul>
<li>Create a Twitter username that is your name.  Not @healthinsuranceforless (not a real user name at this time)</li>
<li>Tweet like you talk.  Be conversational even if you are pitching something (more on this later)</li>
<li>Be authentic. People can&#8217;t stand the phony sales guy in the real world or on Twitter.</li>
</ul>
<h2>2) Don&#8217;t always have something to sell</h2>
<p>Twitter is about networking. Would you go to a local networking event and every time someone with a hello-my-name-is sticker walked up you say &#8220;<span><span id="msgtxt6481169347">CA Drivers Improvement Course With our Mature Course drivers 55 &amp; older can save up to 15% off their car <strong>insurance</strong>!&#8221; </span></span></p>
<p><span><span>I hope not.</span></span></p>
<p><span><span>Tweet these 3 things more often to piss off less people&#8230;</span></span></p>
<ol>
<li><span><span>Valuable relevant content that is not yours. Post a link to a recent news article, blog post or other industry information.  Make it relevant to insurance, healthy living or any other info that someone who could be your customer would find valuable.<br />
</span></span></li>
<li><span><span>Jokes, anecdotes, or other random fun content.  People want to smile and have fun.</span></span></li>
<li><span><span>RT&#8217;s &#8211; retweet your followers tweets.  Show that you are in community and communicating with your list.<br />
</span></span></li>
</ol>
<h2>3) Promote &#8211; don&#8217;t sell</h2>
<p>Twitter is a place for promotions not sales pitches.  Learning the art of promoting is the key to making money with Twitter. Let&#8217;s look at some ways to promote your great <span style="text-decoration: line-through;">product</span>&#8230;</p>
<ul>
<li>Don&#8217;t promote products, promote yourself.  People don&#8217;t care about your products until they care about you.  Spend more time being an expert and earning your followers trust.</li>
<li>Create reviews of the products and services you offer.  A great way to build relationships, earn trust and let everyone know what you have to sell is to create <em>valuable </em>content about specific things you offer. (This requires that you have a blog)</li>
<li>Provide a way for someone who is interested to click-through and get more info. If they&#8217;re not interested or just not yet, they just skim by your link and &#8220;no-harm no-foul&#8221;.</li>
</ul>
<p>If you have been using these annoying and ineffective methods to promote your business on Twitter don&#8217;t feel bad. No one told you and you&#8217;ve just been doing what almost everyone else does.  One of the keys to my Twitter success has been purposely watching others that do it right.  Here is a list of some Twitter rockstars.</p>

<p>Let&#8217;s face it, consumer confidence in corporations and big companies is dwindling fast. Do you spend more time convincing your prospects about your company and product or do you spend more time building a relationship and positioning yourself as an expert in your industry?</p>
<p>People like to buy from people they like and trust. Do you give anyone a reason to like or trust you?</p>
<p>If you buy leads this can be very difficult to do. You have leads generated on a third party site and then forwarded to you. You have about 30 seconds before 4 brokers call this one person.</p>
<p>No relationship. No trust. Massive competition. There has to be a better way&#8230;</p>
<p><span id="more-201"></span></p>
<p>There is.</p>
<p>The key component to long term online marketing success is your ability to create, develop, and share the brand of “You”.</p>
<p>There are basically two types of people buying online. “Price people” and “value people”.</p>
<p>“Price people” tend to only care about the price of whatever they&#8217;re purchasing and don&#8217;t put to much concern toward the value of the product or the value they receive for expert consultations (even if it leads to a lower cost in the end).</p>
<p>“Price people” really don&#8217;t care who you are or what value you have to offer. They also are not loyal even if they do buy. Why?</p>
<p>Because someone is always selling something cheaper.</p>
<p>“Value people” care again about value. Value does include price though, but it&#8217;s not necessarily the main concern. “What am I getting for my money” is a question these people tend to subconsciously ask.</p>
<p>Service is a big deal to “value people”. They want to make sure they&#8217;re dealing with an expert who is going to direct them in the right direction. Value people what consul from experts in the industry who can show they where the real value lies.</p>
<p>They don&#8217;t however just believe that everyone who is selling something is an expert. They need to trust that “You” are an expert that can deliver the value they&#8217;re looking for.</p>
<p>What you get in return from “value people” once you meet their demands is a loyal customer who is very likely to purchase additional products from you and refer you additional business.</p>
